West Wood Products Opens First East Coast Plant

Charleston, SC—Laminate engineered panel and wood component firm West Wood Products (IWF Booth C2430) says its new, 60,000-sq.-ft. plant near Charleston, SC is now operational, giving the firm three locations and a national footprint for the first time.

Headquartered in Rancho Dominguez, CA, West Wood Products has a headquarters plant there, and also operates a facility in Houston along with the new Charleston site. The expansion on the eve of IWF 2022 allows it to serve the Eastern U.S. At IWF it will be exhibiting its offerings in production of prefinished panels, drawer sides, and other components for cabinetry and furniture manufacturers.

“With its close proximity to a major port and its central location along the East Coast, West Wood Products is excited to have a true nationwide footprint,” says the company.

The Charleston facility is 60,000 square feet with a state-of-the-art finishing line that is capable of finishing panels up to 5′ wide and 12′ long. The substrates available at this location include MDF, particleboard, and plywood. Soon it will offer prefinished panels, primed panels, drawer sides, drawer bottoms, and other components.

At IWF West Wood Products will be presenting its TuffCoat finished panels, TuffCoat finished panels used for many applications including drawer bottoms, drawer sides, backs, store features, and door skins. Employing a proprietary paint and print system, it features UV topcoat, and is offered on MDF, particleboard, and plywood in oak, cherry, maple, and newsprint patterns, as well as black, white, and custom colors.
