ICA Greenguard Certifications

GREENGUARD certification was awarded ICA by UL for its Iridea Polyurethane and Iridea Water-Based ranges.

Toronto – Coatings firm ICA received certifications and validations for products that reduce environmental impacts and improve the quality of indoor living. Headquartered in Italy, ICA North America is based in Toronto. ICA Iridea Bio Water-Based coatings are now eligible for LEED credits. And GREENGUARD certification was awarded by UL for its Iridea Polyurethane and Iridea Water-Based ranges of coatings for furnishings. Read more.

Ann Arbor, MI – Is Cabinetworks for sale? The industry behemoth formed last year when Masco Cabinets was acquired by American Industrial Partners (AIP), which combined it with ACP Inc. (Armstrong Cabinets). Bloomberg Business and Crain’s Detroit Business both report the news, with no comments offered by AIP or Cabinetworks. Read more

Freeburg, PA – William Penn Cabinetry received a $500,000 loan from SEDA-Council of Governments that will let it open a second shift and hire 150 people. “This loan allows us to get the company the resources it needs to further ramp up our production much more quickly than our original estimate of a year,” owner Maurice Brubaker says. He formed the firm in July 2019 after he saw the abrupt closure of Wood-Mode and started production last March. Half its current 30 employees came from Wood-Mode

Wilsonville, OR – Collins named TJ Rosengarth its president & CEO, succeeding Eric Schooler on February 15, 2021. He was with Willamette Industries in composite panels (1985-2000), Weyerhaeuser as VP of its Composite Panels business (2001-2006), Flakeboard as COO (2007-2011), and Northwest Hardwoods as its president and CEO (2011-2018). 

Reston, VA – Cabinet sales rose 11.6% in December 2020 versus December 2019, reports the Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association’s (KCMA) monthly Trend of Business Survey. Custom sales are up 19.3%, semi-custom increased 12.5% and stock sales increased 9.6%. For the whole year, cabinet sales are up 2.0% versus 2019. Custom sales increased 0.4%, semi-custom sales fell 1.9%, and stock sales increased 5.1%. Survey participants represent approximately 75% of the U.S. kitchen cabinet and bath vanity market. 

Spartanburg, SC – The largest producer and distributor of ready-to-assemble kitchen and bathroom cabinetry and countertops in the Northeast, CNC Cabinetry leased its first facility in South Carolina near Spartanburg. With headquarters in South Plainfield, NJ, and existing locations in Texas, Nevada and Florida, its expanded operations in Spartanburg will occupy 109,000 square feet of newly built industrial space. CNC Cabinetry is among cabinet importers that lobbied against punitive anti-dumping tariffs levied on Chinese imports last year.
