BALTIMORE, MD – Greenway Products & Services is opening a new pallet manufacturing plant in Baltimore, its third since 2016. The new facility supports the rapid growth in online shopping, and the emerging network of warehouses supporting business and home deliveries in the Mid-Atlantic region.

Baltimore is strategically located within an overnight drive of one-third of the U.S. population, making it an attractive location for companies with customers in the region.

Greenway’s new manufacturing facility, which supports retail and manufacturing logistics throughout MD, DE, NJ, Eastern PA, and NY, is equipped with efficient, state-of-the-art automation for pallet manufacturing and remanufacturing.

“The investments we have made in automation and the strong work ethic of our employees enables us to achieve the industry’s highest on-time delivery rate of 98.9%,” says Dominick Davi, president of Greenway. David co-owns the business with Anthony Fabrizio.

The new Baltimore facility includes two lines – a direct line for pallet repair and assembly, and a recovery line to preserve sturdy and reliable components from recycled pallets. The site also is equipped with trailers and tractors for pallet pickups and deliveries.

Its new location in Baltimore – Greenway’s first in Maryland – makes it eligible for a number of state tax credits, including More Jobs for Marylanders and a Job Creation Tax Credit, according to Maryland Commerce Secretary Kelly M. Schulz. “Maryland is an ideal location for any company that needs to quickly reach its customers in the Mid-Atlantic area,” Schulz says.

To staff up, the company planned a job fair for the last week in January. The Baltimore Mayor’s Office of Employment Development will also help with hiring, according to Colin Tarbert, CEO of the Baltimore Development Corporation (BDC).

“We are excited that Greenway Products & Services selected Baltimore,” says Tarbert, whose office administers the Maryland Enterprise Zone within the city of Baltimore. BDC offers a $1,000 tax credit for each new hire; $6,000 for hiring economically disadvantaged employees.

“Any business that needs to deliver or move product relies on pallets,” says Greenway’s VP Paul Davi, who pioneered the pallet business beginning in 1993. Pallets are a critical component to logistics, but also require logistics for delivery and retrieval to customers. Greenway Products & Services is both a pallet manufacturer and re-manufacturer as well as a full-service pallet management company.

Greenway’s product line includes new pallets, reconditioned and recycled pallets, remanufactured pallets, as well as wood pallets in standard and custom sizes for domestic and international shipping. Davi says pallets contribute to lowering handling and storage costs for all types of industries, including food and beverage production, landscape pavers, and cabinetry.

Greenway Products & Services was founded in 2015, formed from the merger of Pallets Unlimited and Generated Ltd. Within a year, a new plant was built in New Brunswick, NJ. This was followed by the Dayton, NJ plant in 2019, its largest. The Dayton facility provides pallets to one of the largest industrial areas in the region. Greenway’s Dayton facility houses two repair lines and a wood recovery system. This plant started with two shifts and is the main hub for Greenway’s 48×40 pallets, along with its high volume of non-standard pallets.

Greenway is a member of the National Wooden Pallet & Container Association (NWPCA). It is the largest organization of wood packaging professionals in the world, with more than 670 company members in 28 countries who manufacture, repair and distribute pallets and wood packaging in unit-load solutions, or who supply products and services to the industry.
