The Architectural Woodwork Institute (AWI) and the Stairbuilders and Manufacturers Association (SMA) received approval by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) for ANSI/ AWI SMA 0643-2021—Wood Stair, Handrail, and Guard Systems Standard. “It took several years until the standard draft was ready to begin the ANSI process in the summer of 2020,” says AWI Technical Director Hunter Morrison. The ANSI-accredited standard replaces Section 7 of the Architectural Woodwork Standards – Edition 2 (2014). Read more>>

(NASDAQ: PATK) acquired Everett, WA-based Sea-Dog Corporation, a $20 million distributor of marine and power sports hardware; its sister company, Sea-Lect Plastics, which provides plastic injection molding; and Hyperform Inc., a $25 million manufacturer of high-quality, non-slip foam flooring.

Titan Home Improvement, a growing direct-to-consumer home improvement services business, says its Mad City Windows business in Wisconsin acquired New Windows for America, a Minneapolis remodeler. Since forming in 2019, Titan has grown steadily, acquiring FHIA Remodeling (its predecessor company), Statewide Remodeling, Mad City Windows & Baths and Paradise Home Improvement. Read more>>
