Troy, AL—The Marwin Company, a specialty door manufacturer, has acquired HB&G Building Products, Inc., the largest manufacturer of front porch columns and other outdoor living products. It is headed by Lance Servais.
Marwin, a unit of Validor Capital, is based in West Columbia, SC, producing fold-down attic stairways, French doors, and pocket doors. It was acquired in 2017 by Validor, a private investment firm, which earlier this year acquired SS Industries, a staircase maker, and Millwork 360, a Tampa-based custom moulding and millwork firm.
HB&G daates back to 1880 with more than 100 years of experience producing columns, providing stock and custom columns in wood and a selection of composite materials.
“We are very excited to have Lance Servais and his team become part of The Marwin Company,” says Validor Capital Managing Partner Matt Kaufman. “HB&G expands our product offerings and our channels to market, which should enhance the performance of all of the companies.” In addition to columns, HB&G Building Products specialty millwork includes residential railings, balustrades, and outdoor living products such as pergolas, arbors, and trellises.
