Reston, VA – Kitchen cabinet sales maintained their end-of-year momentum into January, growing at a healthy clip. The Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association’s (KCMA) monthly Trend of Business Survey for January 2021 found an increase in overall cabinet sales of 10.4% compared to the same month in 2020. Based on data from participating cabinet manufacturers, custom cabinet sales are up 7.8%, semi-custom cabinets increased 17.7%, and stock sales increased 6.1%
On a month-to-month basis, cabinet sales dipped slightly, with overall sales down 2.9% in January 2021 compared to December 2020. Custom sales decreased 7.1%, but semi-custom sales rebounded to up 5%, while stock sales decreased 7.3%.
KCMA has been compiling and reporting industry sales data for more than 40 years. Survey participants include stock, semi-custom and custom cabinet companies whose combined sales represent approximately 75% of the U.S. kitchen cabinet and bath vanity market.
KCMA is the major trade association for kitchen cabinet and bath vanity manufacturers and key suppliers of goods and services to the industry. A non-profit organization, KCMA was founded in 1955 to represent companies who manufacture cabinets, bath cabinets, or other residential cabinets and key kitchen and bath industry suppliers. With a membership now more than 300 strong throughout North America, KCMA works to advance the cabinet industry through advocacy, setting cabinet quality standards, sponsoring kitchen and bath cabinet-related research and providing the cabinet industry with management tools and educational programs.
