Diverzify Forms World’s Largest Contract Flooring Installer

Itasca, IL—Diverzify, a large Itasca, IL contract flooring installation firm, acquired two of Shaw Industries’ contract flooring divisions to form the world’s largest independent firm in its field.

Part of Warren Buffet’s Bershire Hathaway, Shaw industries makes hardwood, laminate, resilient, tile, and carpet flooring. Shaw sold its Spectra Contract Flooring and ProSpectra Contract Flooring in the deal with Diverzify, which is a holding of ACON Investments. The combined business has nearly $1 billion in revenue, 52 U.S. locations, and a labor force of 5,000 craftsmen, serving more than 50,000 customers nationally. The individual businesses will continue to operate under their current brand names, and will have a brand presence in every major U.S. market.

“Spectra and ProSpectra, with their market presence are the only businesses capable of completing our vision for a combined market-leading business,” says Diverzify CEO Jordan Zmijewski. Diverzify has acquired a number of regional flooring firms since it was bought by ACON in May 2021.

The combined company will be led by CEO Jordan Zmijewski. Jim Pels, president of Spectra Contract Flooring, will become chief operating officer. Diverzify offerings include wood and laminate flooring and sports flooring.
