Sugar Land, TX—Boise Cascade launched a website for its millwork and doors business, which will see a new 160,000-sq-ft. door shop come online this quarter in Sugar Land, TX near Houston.
The dedicated website showcases exterior and interior doors, finish options, door hardware, and other complementary products. Boise Cascadeis both a wholesale distributor of building products and one of the largest producers of engineered wood products and plywood in North America.
Its Building Materials Distribution division already operates millwork door shops in Houston and Dallas in Texas, Atlanta, GA, Grand Junction, CO, Memphis, TN, Milton, FL, Salt Lake City, UT and Tulsa, OK. Doors have grown in popularity both with the rise in home sales and to improve soundproofing and privacy for individuals working and studying from home.
The newest door shop, which is actively hiring, will serve approximately 900 customers from the Building Materials Center. It will offer Simpson high-quality wood entry and interior pre-hung door units, and offer special-order custom wood exterior and interior doors in almost any style and size.
It will also assemble Therma-Tru fiberglass exterior doors and offer PrismaGuard premium stain and paint finishing options. And, it will mill Therma-Tru Composite Frames, featuring Tru-Guard Composite Technology which encases LVL engineered lumber in wood-grained paintable fiberglass.
Rick Halfmann, Houston branch manager, says the new door shop will support dealers in Houston and surrounding markets, as well as the western half of Louisiana. “Our Dallas door shop opened in May of 2020 and is ramping up nicely,” Halfmann says. “We will begin servicing the Houston market from Dallas later this quarter in preparation of the opening of our new facility.”
The addition represents Boise’s ninth door shop in the U.S., and second in Texas. “We’re proud to be working closely with Therma-Tru as a key supplier to all nine of our door locations, and across the entire state of Texas,” says Bud Skinner, Boise building materials distribution’s southwest region manager.
The new website shows what products are available at local branches for visitors entering their zip code, and it can find the closest dealer with the dealer locator option. Visitors have access to a wide range of product literature, videos, and technical and warranty information.
