Atlanta, GA—The International Woodworking Fair named Bill Esler to the position of Editor of its recently launched newsletter and online news channel, IWF Network News.
The former Editorial Director of Woodworking Network brings decades of experience in business-to-business reporting, as well as a background in manufacturing operations and management.
With a journalism degree from Knox College in Galesburg, IL, Esler began his reporting career in 1981 at American Printer Magazine, following 10 years in print production management at Ace Hardware Corp., Spiegel Catalog, and other firms. Later he was editorial director at Innes Publishing, at Cahners Publishing, and at Reed Business Information.
Esler entered the wood industry in 2010 as Editorial Director at Woodworking Network for Vance Publishing, where he grew online audiences dramatically while overseeing Wood Products Magazine, Closets Magazine, and Custom Woodworking Business. He also launched the Wood Industry Almanac and developed content for webcasts, streaming video, and social media. In 2014, he added the role of Conference Program Manager for Cabinets & Closets Expo, and WMS the Toronto Woodworking Machinery & Supply Expo. Also during that period he regularly developed Symposiums for each IWF Educational Conference.
Following his retirement in 2018, Esler developed the program for the Executive Briefing Conference, EBC 2019, for CCI Media. He has also presented at the annual Wood Industry Conference, and is on the Woodwork Career Alliance Education Committee, the Greater West Town Training Partnership advisory board, and Foinse Research Station, a forest-science focused biological field station in Ireland.
