Roseburg, OR—7robotics engineers designed and programmed this Robotic Stall Grading System and set it up for testing at its Roseburg, OR facility.
Afterward it was shipped to Eugene, OR to handle and sort plywood panels in a customer’s grading cell. With the help of the robot, the operator inspects each panel and decides whether it should be placed into an on-grade or off-grade pile.
If the operator decides on off-grade, the robot will first present the panel to an ink-marking system (indicating a downgraded panel), then place the panel on the bunk for stacking. Once the robot places the off-graded or on-graded panels into their designated piles on one of two bunks, a bunk system will square the unit so it’s ready to be picked up by a forklift. The robot will also place bottom boards, slip sheets, and top covers based on the customer’s packaging specifications.
The repetitive, strenuous, and monotonous movements completed by the robot ensure production levels remain high, according to 7robotics, while facilities remain safe, and more workers are free to do other important tasks. 7robotics also programs robots to assemble, nail, screw, and glue. A concept video shows a 7robotics system nailing together wooden pallets.
7robotics will be among the first-time exhibitors at IWF 2022, a growing list of technology and supply sources for the woodworking industry. Occupying all three buildings of the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, IWF 2022 will reflect the true scope and scale of the global woodworking industry, featuring virtually all major manufacturers, emerging brands, and new-to-market producers and service providers. The large and diverse exhibitor mix will showcase products and services in more than 545 categories covering all key market sectors.
