Nederman, a global leader in industrial air filtration solutions introduced its LBR SmartFilter and myAir service offerings for woodworking manufacturers at IWF 2022.
The LBR SmartFilter is a future-proof approach to dust collection that improves worker health and safety, increases productivity, efficient maintenance and improved sustainability. This new technology marries Nederman’s reliable and energy efficient baghouse technology with our innovative Insight IoT (Internet of Things) platform creating a one of a kind product that prepares our customers for a more automated and connected future.
The LBR SmartFilter includes Integrated sensors on critical system components including fans, VFDs, combustible dust isolation valves, material handling systems and more. Active monitoring with local, email and or mobile device alerts when action or maintenance is required keeps the system operating reliably and allows customers to focus on their core business.
By monitoring filter performance with pressure sensors and emission monitors, filters can be changed when required versus a timed interval reducing waste and we monitor PM emissions to alert users of a torn bag or bypass. The operational data is available for viewing on any connected device to be tracked remotely avoiding some manual inspections and or enabling system tracking at multiple sites.
One of the most innovative features on the LBR SmartFilter is the Insight Control which serves three main functions as the HMI, an IoT gateway and the filter controller which are often separated into multiple components or require separate installation.
The Insight Control includes a vibrant touch screen with summarized home screen, system schematic available in local units and fifteen languages and the alarming conforms with ISA 18.2 and IEC 62682 global standards. Insight connected systems also allow Nederman’s technical support and service teams to access the data to minimize downtime and keep customers productive.
Benefits of the LBR SmartFilter to woodworking factories include:
Pricing for the LBR SmartFilter varies by model and configuration but remains in line with its predecessor the NF baghouse. Insight connected services are available for an annual fee but are not required for local system operation as connectivity can be added at any time in the future.
Nederman introduced a new concept for clean air solutions and services with their myAir offering. The myAir concept combines our latest SmartFilter dust collector offering with a scalable service platform that includes traditional on-site services and or a digital monitoring service capable of monitoring live data.
Efficient and effective maintenance of industrial filtration solutions is essential to safety, controlling operational costs and maintaining productivity. With Nederman myAir, customers have access to data analytics and enhanced technical support empowering them to take control of their factory air like never before.
“Companies investing in air filtration are rarely filter experts and want to focus on their business and production. With Nederman myAir we revolutionize the industrial air filtration industry and can provide the customers with live and historical filtration data to understand and maintain the performance and quality of their filtration system,” says Hans Dahlén, SVP Extraction &Filtration Technology Division.
Nederman myAir subscription service combines IoT enabled SmartFilters with sensors, cloud-based software and service for customers to secure uptime performance, proactive system monitoring and minimizing maintenance costs. To remotely monitor filter functionality, airflow, get warnings and much more on a computer, phone or tablet means that the filters can be conveniently checked and supervised efficiently. Remote monitoring and data collection save time, money and it also helps businesses comply with laws and regulations.
S-Series Enclosureless Dust Collector
Nederman also displayed its S-Series enclosureless indoor dust collection unit (shown at top) in multiple booths on the IWF show floor. The S-Series is a safe, NFPA compliant, silent and simple to set-up dust collector suitable for industrial dust collection applications including the wood industry (furniture, cabinetry, windows, doors, flooring, particle board, MDF, building materials, marine, sawmills).
