The big home improvement chain continues to build out its business in the home design category.
With the new home construction sector continuing to stay challenged, Home Depot has made an additional move to strengthen its business in finished products and home services. In late December the Home Depot subsidiary, Construction Resources Company, announced it had acquired Atlanta-based Bell Cabinetry, which manufactures, designs and installs cabinets.
Construction Resources was itself acquired by the giant retailer in 2023 and has operations in a number of home construction areas, including flooring, glass and mirror, appliances, fireplaces and garage doors, lighting and surface fabrication. It works across the construction spectrum including commercial, residential and multifamily segments and has showrooms located in the Southeast and along the East Coast. Bell has a showroom in the Atlanta Decorative Arts Center.
“This acquisition represents a significant opportunity for us to accelerate our multiproduct strategy by introducing high-quality cabinetry to the Construction Resources offering,” Mitch Hires, CEO of Construction Resources, said in announcing the purchase. “By combining our strengths, we are confident that we will drive innovation and continue to deliver the exceptional quality and service our customers have come to expect.”
Construction Resources said Bell’s current leadership will continue on once the deal is completed. “This acquisition aligns perfectly with our shared vision of delivering exceptional value to our customers by simplifying the design and building process, reducing build-time and streamlining product selection and installation,” Michael Bell, CEO of Bell Cabinetry, said in the sale announcement. “By combining our expertise with Construction Resources’ extensive product offerings and successful showroom model, we are poised to provide even greater value and service to our clients.”
