The big hardware chain has already opened 100 new locations this year, part of its nationwide expansion effort.
The chain is now up to almost 5,200 retail stores around the country with these latest openings, and more are on the way. With more than 8,700 locally owned and operated stores globally, Ace Hardware says it is the largest hardware cooperative in the world.
The Oak Brook, IL based company says its growth is being driven by existing members opening additional locations, competitor stores converting to the Ace nameplate and what it calls new entrepreneurs joining the cooperative for the first time.
“This milestone reflects the continued strength of our local ownership model, our commitment to service and the trust our customers place in Ace,” Andy Enright, senior vice president of retail strategy and operations for Ace said in noting the latest expansion. “Even in a world of rapid change, we believe that helpfulness, human connection and a commitment to community will always be at the center of enduring retail success.”
Ace is also launching its first retail media network, RedVest Media, that provides brand advertisers a retail platform that includes in-store premium ads, search and display, messaging and in-store signage as well as offsite programable display, video, connected TV and mobile ads.
