IWF 2010 Announces The Challengers Award Call for Entries

The call for entries for the 2010 Challengers Distinguished Achievement Awards®, competition is officially underway with the entry deadline set for April 1, 2010. Over sixty exhibiting companies have requested entry packages for the 2010 competition as of this date.

New for 2010 the Challengers Award® finalists and winners will be recognized all 4 days in a highly visible display area on the show floor. The special area will provide buyers and the media information about the 2010 finalists and winners.

The Challengers Award®, which will be presented during IWF 2010, is known throughout the world as the woodworking industry’s highest honor, recognizing advancements in technology or significant contributions to environmental improvement: and focuses on companies that have distinguished themselves by developing innovative technology in products, materials, supplies and services. The award challenges IWF exhibiting companies to develop revolutionary, creative, ingenious, forward-thinking technology, materials, services or safety devices that advance the industry.

Presented every two years, The Challengers Award® recognizes seven outstanding exhibiting companies. A panel of distinguished judges will review and analyze each entry and decide on the top 20 entries just prior to the Fair. The final judging will take place August 24th and the winners will be announced on August 25, 2010.

IWF 2010 Challengers Award

The Challengers Distinguished Achievement Award® is internationally recognized as one of the industry's highest honors in recognizing advancements in technology, process or significant contributions to environmental improvement in the woodworking industry. It challenges IWF exhibiting companies to develop forward-thinking technology in machinery, materials, supplies, manufacturing techniques, services and safety.

Presented every two years during IWF, the Challengers Award recognizes seven outstanding exhibitors for helping to advance the industry with their innovative products and services. Final judging will take place the day before IWF 2010 opens and the seven winning companies will be presented with the distinctive Challengers Award bronze sculpture on opening day of IWF. Winners and finalists will have 16' towers placed in their booths during the show to signify their achievements and make their accomplishments known to IWF buyers.

New for IWF 2010 there will be a Challengers Award Pavilion on the show floor that will showcase the 20 finalists and seven winners the entire four days of the show!
